MADURA ISLAND

Madura is the name of the island which lies east of East Java Sea. Madura Island of magnitude less than 5250 km2 (smaller than the island of Bali), with a population of around 4 million people.

History

Politically, Madura over the centuries has become subordinate to regional authority based in Java.
